Heather Morris apologizes for 'insensitive' Mark Salling tweets - Page Six

Heather Morris has apologized for recently defending her late “Glee” co-star Mark Salling after a social media user placed a vomit emoji over a picture of him.

Last week, Morris tweeted that putting the emoji on Salling, who was embroiled in a child porn scandal before his suicide in 2018, was “offensive,” leading many fans irked.

“To all those who felt triggered by my message, I want to sincerely apologize for the harm I caused,” Morris wrote in a Twitter apology on Monday.

“Whether you, a friend, a family member has been a victim of pedophilia, I realize my words may have been insensitive to your experience and for that I can’t express enough how sorry I am,” the 33-year-old actress concluded.

The controversy began after Kevin McHale, who also starred in the Fox musical series, re-shared a tweet commemorating the “A Very Glee Christmas” episode that aired in 2010. In one image from the post, a vomit emoji is placed over Salling’s face.

“The vomit face on Marks face is offensive,” Morris tweeted at the time.

In since-deleted messages, Morris also wrote (via Daily Mail): “I don’t feel the need to ever justify something because somethings are better left unsaid. Y’all who have lots of things to say, I get it, I UNDERSTAND you… somethings are unforgivable. But this holiday season, amongst ALL holiday seasons is INCREDIBLE hard for so many of us.

“We did not loose just 2 cast members, we lost 3. And it is SO incredible tough to have to act like that 3rd one is invisible, because even though his actions are unjustifiable, he was part of our family at one point and he was mentally SICK. Yes pedophelia is a sickness but…

“Although I don’t want to have to say all that, its truthful. So THANK YOU for treated me with such disrespect and unkindness during a time that I can’t get through a day without balling my eyes out at the loss of my entire Glee family… thank you.”

Salling, who played Noah “Puck” Puckerman on the show, pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography in December 2017. He had been slated to be sentenced in March 2018. He was 35 years old at the time of his death.

Tragedies have befallen the “Glee” cast over the years. In 2013, Cory Monteith died of a deadly combination of heroin and alcohol. Just this year, Naya Rivera drowned in California’s Lake Piru while boating with her young son, Josey.
